About this work
Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Valenciennes lace. The repeating pattern consists of a curved branch with a flower and a flower bud. The branch originates from the slightly scalloped edge along the bottom of the strip. Diagonally above each branch a loose leaf with a pointed oval shape. The motifs are made in linen stitch with openwork edges and are connected by a square Valenciennes ground. The top side is finished with a straight edge. The short sides of the strip are sewn together.
