About this work

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Parisian lace. A rectangular center piece of machine-made tulle is set on three sides entirely, and on a long side partially with a straight strip of bobbin lace, which shows a symmetrical pattern on a closed needlepoint ground. A zigzag line with hearts and rosettes is followed by inward scallops along the straight outer side. The motifs are made in linen stitch with a thicker and shiny contour thread. As a decorative ground a rose ground is applied.
