Strip of bobbin lace with V-shaped twigs bearing an ear of corn

Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace: Lille lace. The repeating pattern covers only the lower half of the strip and consists of side-by-side V-shaped branches, with small oval leaves and one ear of corn. The sparse branches originate from a line along the bottom edge of the strip, which forms a small oval between the branches. The motifs are connected by a fine trellis ground, a tulle ground. The motifs are worked in linen stitch, with thicker and shiny contour threads. The ears of corn are filled with a row of blocks, worked in mold stitch. The top and bottom edges of the strip are finished straight, with the bottom edge provided with picots.
