About this work
Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace: Lille lace. Under a wide scatter pattern of square motifs the repeating pattern consists of a curved twig with stiff straight leaves. The twig originates from a row of linked ovals along the bottom edge of the strip. The motifs are connected by a fine lattice ground, a tulle ground. The sparse solid work is made in linen stitch, with thicker and shiny contour threads. The motifs are made in form stitch. The top and bottom edges of the strip are finished straight, with the bottom edge provided with picots.
