About this work
Strip of bobbin lace of natural-coloured bobbin lace, Russian or Eastern European lace. On a ground of irregular braids stands an asymmetrical pattern of coarse spirals of smooth moulding, accompanied by edges of loops and winding ribbon. Straight (tree?) ornamentations form transverse dividing lines between the spirals. The strip may have been intended as an interleaf.
