About this work
Cherrywood chair with a rush seat. The legs, the five stretchers, and the H-shaped cross are turned. The corner stiles of the back are columnar jointed with thickening at the bottom; the housings are rounded. The lower and upper rails are symmetrically pierced, as is the middle rail, which is flanked by two profiled stiles and displays a lily in an oval in the central panel. As a crowning of the corner stiles, vases are attached.
