About this work

Jug of stoneware on a high foot with a globular body and wide neck. The C-shaped handle is attached to the neck and belly. Profile on the rim and incised lines on the shoulder, belly and foot. Covered with a brown engobe. On the belly in relief a printed and applied decoration. Three times a medallion with Fortuna, the personification of luck, and the inscription 'DEO DVCE COMITE FORTVNA'. Between the medallions leaf motifs. Attached to the neck a tin mount with lid. Creussen.
