About this work

Bed of mahogany (?) and rosewood, with twisted columns, decorated with pierced braided bands, ringed cords, laurel strips and vine friezes. The claw feet on the long sides are scalloped and pierced with acanthus volutes, as are the crowns at the head and foot ends. At the headboard, six balusters support a cornice. The basement of the corner posts show elongated male figures and the corner posts are crowned with balls. The bed stands on vase feet. At the canopy a bedpost. With mattress.
