About this work

The object consists of two parts: the base and the stem with candleholder. They are cast and then turned. The high, profiled conical base is provided at the top with a raised rim, which also allows it to serve as a drip pan. On the conical middle part, the stem is riveted and subsequently turned at the bottom. The stem, decorated with four knobs, one of which is slightly larger, transitions at the top into a profiled, almost cylindrical holder. The base and stem are decorated with fluting. The holder was shortened during a repair, so the rectangular openings are missing. The stem is soldered at the bottom.
