About this work
Stoneware jug on a high foot with a globular body and short, wide neck. The C-shaped handle is attached to the neck and shoulder. Profiles on the neck and foot. Partially covered with cobalt blue glaze. The jug is decorated with a relief decoration in which the belly is largely covered with printed and applied medallions featuring a flower rosette against a blue background. Blue lines on the neck and foot. A tin mount with lid is attached to the handle; on the inside, a stamped mark of a tower with the letters 'CQ'. Westerwald.
