About this work

Round lead plaque. In the foreground Rebekah offers the pitcher of spring water to Eliezer, by which gesture Eliezer recognizes in her the woman destined for his master's son Isaac. Behind her the well with a woman drawing a bucket, a second woman in front of it, sitting on the ground, leaning a pitcher on her knee. To the left, in the middle ground, a coachman with two camels. Trees in the landscape. In the background water and a city against the mountains.
