About this work
She stands on the left leg with the right leg bent. On her left arm she carries the clothed child, toward whom she turns her head. Under her right elbow she holds up the mantle, and with her hand she draws it to the left across her body. Over her loose hair is the veil, which goes to the right in front of the chest. The girded undergarment with a pearl-edged neckline is largely covered by the mantle hanging from the shoulder, which is fastened at the neck. On the head are several holes for the attachment of a metal crown.
