About this work

Fragment of a stoneware jug on a ring foot with a spherical body. Neck and handle missing. Partially covered with cobalt blue. On the belly in relief a printed and applied medallion with a portrait of Christian II, Elector of Saxony, with border inscription 'CHRISTIANVS II DVX SAXONIAE ETC SEPTEMVIRATVS CAES'. The medallion is surrounded by engraved vines with stamped flowers. Raeren.
