St Catherine of Alexandria

The saint stands on a multi-sided plinth with the bent right leg forward over Maxentius. She stares straight ahead, holds a book on the left hand and in the right the lost attribute, the sword. A wrapped pearl band rests on the hair, which falls down in long wavy braids, each ending in a curl. Over a thin undergarment with frontlet and long wide, flaring sleeves a garment with short sleeves, to which fringe, and a round, embroidered neck; it is gathered under the left arm, so that the right shoe point becomes free. The mantle, of which a slip hangs over the left arm, is held together on the chest by a double chain with decorative buttons. Around the neck a gathered cord with pendant. The lying Maxentius holds the left hand under his head and the right before him. He wears a garment with long sleeves and a fur-lined cap with button. On the book a hole.
