About this work

In the flat of the dish, which has a central boss in the middle, stamped with die-stamps: an umbo surrounded by vine work with four grape clusters and four vine leaves, as well as a border of random letters on a hatched background (repeated four times). Furthermore, a stamped ornament is applied on the rim of stylized leaf motifs in the center and of branches along the edge. Blown bubbles are worked into the wall. The rim is wrapped around iron wire. The hanging ring at the back and the hole in the rim were added later. The central boss has become a small opening.
