About this work

In the flat of the bowl, where the center point is visible in the middle, stamped with die-forms: a depiction of St. George on horseback fighting the dragon and the princess on the left in the background, taken from the Legenda Aurea, as well as the inscription DER IN FRID GEHWART applied four times on a hatched background. Around this, stamped leaf motifs have been applied. In the wall, fish bladders are chased. The rim has stamped leaf ornament in the middle and stamped cross-flowers at the edge. The rim is wrapped around an iron wire. The hanging ring at the back and the hole in the rim were added later.
