About this work
She stands on a plinth with bent left knee, has the right forearm forward and holds in the left hand (which was lost) a book at the purse. From the head, which is turned slightly to the left, the parted hair falls over the shoulders. Over a thin undergarment, which comes to light at the neck, a long garment, which falls in parallel pleats for chest and waist at the hem of the neck opening, but further hides behind the mantle which, draped to the left, is gathered under the arms.
