About this work
Convex cylindrical milk jug in earthenware, Black Basalt. The jug has a C-shaped handle, a curved spout, and a lid with a knob in the form of a seated woman with her left arm resting on a vat. The lower half of the jug's belly is ribbed, and above it is a relief image of allegorical women and music-making children. The jug is marked.
