Strip of Bobbin Lace with Hanging Round Cluster Flowers

Strip of black bobbin lace, blonde. The repeating pattern along the lower edge of the strip consists of linked round bunch flowers, which hang down from a curved stem with two leaves, forming semi-circular shells in this way. Above the flowers is a sprinkling pattern of two rows of round motifs. The flowers are made with an ornamental ground of diagonally placed rows of linked round motifs, connected to each other by overlapping pairs. The leaves and (linked) round motifs are made in linen stitch and provided with thicker contour threads. The motifs are connected to each other by a fine mesh ground, a tulle ground. The upper side of the strip is finished straight. The shell edge on the lower side is finished with picots.
