Strip of Black Bobbin Lace with Curling Calyx Leaf with Three Leaves Emerging

Strip of black bobbin lace: Chantilly. The repeating pattern covers two-thirds of the strip. It consists along the lower edge of the strip of a curling leaf that ends in a calyx shape directed to the left, from which three drop-shaped leaves protrude. In the oval field, which is formed by the curling leaf, stands a twig with leaves and a flower with three petals. At the top, some leaf twigs and a rosette flower protrude from the side of the calyx upwards. The shell edge along the lower edge of the strip is formed by the successive curling leaves, which are connected to each other by four linked u-shaped motifs. The motifs are made in net stitch and provided with contour threads. The motifs are connected to each other by a hexagonal lattice ground, a tulle ground. The upper side of the strip is finished straight. The shell edge is finished with picots.
