About this work
In the flat of the bowl, a representation taken from the Legenda Aurea is stamped with a die-stamp: St. George fighting the dragon, with the princess, the royal couple, and the angel in the background. This is surrounded by a stamped border of stylized leaf ornament. On the rim, a border of rosettes is stamped. The hanging ring at the back and the hole in the rim were added later.
