Strip or collar of needle lace with fine vines and small flowers

Strip or collar of natural-colored needle lace: Venetian rose lace. The pattern consists of fine curling and splitting vines with many small leaves and various small flowers. The motifs are made with festoon stitches. By applying twists in the festoon stitches, fine openwork has been created that forms patterns in different petals and leaves. In some motifs decorative stitches have been applied. Relief contours run along all motifs and around the flower hearts, thickenings with cords are formed, which are decorated with (wheel) picots. The motifs are connected by picoted bars. The top side of the strip is finished straight with a knotted band. The bottom side is finished with a small arch edge. The short sides are finished more or less straight.
