Strip of Bobbin Lace with Wavy Double Leaf Garland and Loose Rosette Flower

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Mechelen lace. The pattern consists of a double and regularly wavy leaf garland, which ends at the top in a branch with three small flowers. Above the garland some scattered flower sprigs and a loose rosette flower. Along the lower edge under the wave peak one flower stem with elongated leaves, which form a small cartouche. The motifs are connected to each other by a mesh ground. The work is made in linen stitch with some openings and thicker and shiny contour threads. Between the double garland and in the small cartouches sparingly some different ornamental grounds are applied. Top and bottom edges of the strip are straight finished, with picots along the lower edge. One short side is finished with a hem.
