About this work
Paper diorama depicting Honselaarsdijk Palace and a walled garden. In the garden various birds are visible, monkeys are climbing, and people are playing various games. The paper cut-out was in the possession of Maria van Assendelft in 1714, as indicated by the text on the frame: "Maria van Assendelft, widow Van der Lelij, aged 76 years." The whole is mounted in an ebony frame.
