About this work
Cherrywood chair with a rush seat. The front legs, the eight stretchers, and the back stiles feature turned joints; the rear legs are smooth. The back has three flat curved stretchers decorated front and back with punched symmetrical acanthus leaf volutes on a sand-ground. The top stretcher is symmetrically pierced at the top. As a crowning of the back stiles, loose-set vases are attached.
