About this work

Chair of walnut. The furniture has a rush seat and rests on legs connected by eight stretchers, all turned and showing cylindrical or egg-shaped joints. The back posts and five middle posts are executed in the same manner. The top rail features openwork scroll volutes. Turned vases are attached as finials on the corner posts. Behind the top rail the letters "C. P." are painted, and on the bottom rail "no. 53".
