About this work

Fragment of a stoneware jug on a ring foot with an egg-shaped body. The neck, handle and base are missing. Profiles on the foot. Partially covered with a brown engobe. On the belly three oval medallions with coats of arms. At the central coat of arms the inscription 'L:V:P:M' and the date '1585'. The other two coats of arms differ from the first and bear the border inscription 'DRENCKT:FRI:EINEN:GROTEN TEUGE:ONBEVREST:SOE:MACH:MEN:SEN:DAT:GHI:AN:DEI:KAN:SEIT:GEWEST' and the date 1585. Raeren.
