About this work

A tap jug of tinplate. The three legs with wooden, baluster-shaped feet support a jug with an inverted conical body. At the bottom of the jug is a tap made of copper. On the sides, two gilded lion heads are attached, each holding a ring in its mouth. The tall, tapering lid has an acorn-shaped knob. The tap jug is painted black and decorated with gold ornaments of leaves and flowers. Above the tap is a painting of a landscape with a farmhouse, a farmer, a farmer's wife, and livestock.
