About this work
Model: shoe with upturned pointed toe and half-high heels. Upper of linen, lined with coarse linen. The tongue is almost entirely hidden under two overlapping flaps, originally fastened with a shoe buckle. Between the upper and the sole is a stitched edge of the same white goatskin with which the heel is also covered. Insole of white goatskin. Decoration: the upper, the tongue, and the flaps are embroidered in multi-colored silk in petit point with a floral motif consisting of pomegranate (?), rose, forget-me-not, vines with leaves, pink-red and blue flowers.
