About this work
Case or box of leather in the form of a pyxis (chalice-shaped). The box is cylindrical with a wooden core, covered with pressed and stamped leather, decorated with arabesques on a dotted ground. The hemispherical lid, to which a knob is attached, displays two coats of arms, one of which is surmounted by a cardinal's hat. On the box and lid are two sliders through which a cord can be threaded. The leatherwork is gilded in places and worked in red. Italian.
