Tankard with flowers and ornamental borders

Stoneware beer mug with a cylindrical body and C-shaped handle. Profiles under the rim and above the foot. Partially covered in cobalt blue. On the belly a broad band with three large, stylized flowers consisting of small applied pearls. Above and below this a printed and applied decorative band in relief with medallions and lozenges. The mug is mounted in a tin case with lid and spreading foot. On the lid the mark 'E.L.B' and on the inside three small marks, two with 'I.Z.F. 1701 013', and one with 'S.S.'. Altenburg.
