Centenary of the Knightly Confraternity of the Handbussche in Delft

Silver medal. Obverse: shooter in the attire of a Roman warrior, representing the winner of the shooting competition, who was proclaimed king for the hundredth time in 1737. In his left hand he holds a standing musket and extends his right hand towards the honor medal offered to him by the Confraternity, represented as an armed woman recognizable by the coat of arms of the city. Time with scythe in left hand, seated on a cloud, crowns the shooting king with laurels. To the side an honor column with a burning heart and snake ring with the number C. At the foot of the column an empty shield for the coat of arms of the shooting king. Legend: MERITIS ACQVIRIT HONOREM (honor he acquires through his merits). Exergue: M. HOLTZHEY FEC(it). Reverse: At the top the crowned coat of arms of the Confraternity on two crossed palm branches, at the bottom a goose hanging by the feet, two crossed muskets with the stocks up, hammer etc.
