Salt extraction in Zeeland according to the so-called darink digging, ca. 1600. Digging the darink from the land, drying and burning to ash, transport by boat to the salt kettle, mixing with seawater and boiling to white salt. After an old painting in Zierikzee. In the margin a three-line inscription in Dutch. Numbered top right: IV. D. Page 170.
