Ruffina secretly extends her right hand to her beloved Heerman while looking at her guardian Steiloor, with whom she has just come from the notary. A four-line verse in Dutch and French appears in the lower margin. Scene from the play *The Cunning Maid, or the Deceived Guardian* by Ysbrand Vincent.
