Judgment of Count Willem III. The verdict of Count Willem III the Good on the bailiff of South Holland. The count points with his scepter while lying in his sickbed. The bailiff is heard confessing by a priest, behind him the executioner draws his sword. The peasant kneels by the bed. The room is filled with various officials and spectators. On the wall a tapestry with the representation in which the bailiff steals the peasant's cow. Subject categories within the Atlas Zeden en Gewoonten: Government, Justice.
