About this work

Two farmers sit facing each other, one on an overturned basket, the other on a bench. The farmer on the left lights his pipe, the farmer on the right raises his beer mug. Behind them, the innkeeper makes a note of the consumed drinks on a board with chalk. Subject categories within the Atlas of Customs and Manners: Trade, industry and traffic, Peasant life.
