About this work
Two farmers sit opposite each other, one on an overturned basket, the other on a bench. The farmer to the left lights his pipe, the farmer to the right raises his beer mug. Behind them the innkeeper makes a note of the consumed drinks with chalk on a board. Print is part of a series with scenes from peasant life.
