About this work
Two peasants sit opposite each other, one on an overturned basket, the other on a bench. The peasant on the left lights his pipe, the peasant on the right raises his beer mug. Behind them, the innkeeper makes a note of the consumed drinks on a board with chalk. Print is part of a series with scenes from peasant life.
