About this work
In the lying-in room, a wet nurse feeds the baby while another woman looks on. On the right, the mother lies in a four-poster bed. Beside her sits her husband. At the bottom of the margin, the coat of arms of Johann Goll van Frankenstein, who owned the original painting and to whom the print is dedicated. Precedes the letter.
