The Nutcracker, 1 June 1907 / The Rescue

Issue of the satirical magazine De Notenkraker of 1 June 1907, first year, number 22. Cover with an illustration of Syb Talma throwing a rescue line from the ship 'Reaktie' to the Minister of the Navy William Cohen Stuart, as a shipwrecked man on a raft. Part of a complete first year (1907). Each issue contains 8 pages, partly still not cut out, with a caricature by Albert Hahn on the front and Hahn's prints interspersed with the text on the remaining pages. In the letter 'D' of the title, a head of a so-called nutcracker is depicted.
