About this work

Satirical cartoon on the Spanish suppression of the Cuban uprising in 1896. The Spanish governor Martinez Campos is replaced by General Valeriano Weyler y Nicolau. This change of power is depicted as a bullfight where the old matador (Campos) is replaced by a new one (Weyler), in the middle the wild bull Cuba.
