Barentsz's ship at the Orange Islands, 1596

In the foreground, we see two men looking out over the sea from a mountain on Nova Zembla. In the background, the ship is surrounded by ice floes; a skiff sailing ahead of the ship shoots at a polar bear, on one of the men stands on an ice floe and pushes other ice floes away with a boat hook.
