About this work
Chest inlaid with a rectangle of black wood. The inner edge of the rectangle is straight, the outer edge is wavy. A lengthwise stripe runs in relief over the surface. In the center of the lid, a metal rectangle surrounded by holes. On the left, three locks decorated with holes. On the right, one lock. The right side of the chest is foldable. The inside of the chest is lined with purple satin fixed with buttons of the same fabric. The chest belongs to the photo album presented to F.J. Wirix by the staff of the Suikeronderneming Djatiroto in 1917.
