Photo album presented to A. van der Eyk by the staff of the HVA office in Soerabaja upon his departure from Java in April 1931

Photo album with a brown leather binding, featuring a title page at the front followed by 38 brown cardboard leaves, each with a photograph mounted and covered with a glassine leaf. The front of the album is decorated with border lines and French lilies. Endpapers of marbled paper at the front and back. Captions written in white ink under each photograph. The photographs provide an overview of the activities of the Amsterdam Trading Association (HVA): the headquarters and various sugar enterprises in Java, as well as various aerial photographs. At the back, photographs of a dinner and thé dansant held during the farewell of Van Eyk on April 21 and 19, 1931.
