Saucer

Dish of fire-gilded suassa, with a carved bracket-shaped rim and a raised ring in the center, within which a cup fits. The rim is black lacquered, with three incised flower motifs and three cartouches (medallions) with relief-carved gilded decorations of branches with flowers and birds. On the bottom, around the raised ring (with a seam), a black-lacquered band with an incised striped pattern; within, relief-carved gilded decoration of branches with leaves, flowers, and little birds. Within the raised ring, an incised image of an open flower. The underside of the dish is smooth.
