Outdoors, on the left, a man sits cross-legged on a low wooden platform with ornate front carving; a pair of scissors lies on the platform before him. The man wears a long hip-cloth (veshti, lungi) and a large shawl (chadar) draped over his shoulders. The cap on his head has a special shape, like a paper-folded boat. As a tailor, he is a member of the hannaliya, the caste of tailors and embroiderers. To the right stands a figure, probably a man. He wears a calf-length hip-cloth (veshti, lungi) rolled at the waist. The upper body and right shoulder are partially covered by a folded shoulder cloth; the left shoulder is bare.
