Flintlock pistol

Part of a pair. The lock plate is engraved with a leaping lion, a galloping horse, and a signature; the cock and the frizzen are relief-carved with flowering branches. The round barrel has a ring at the rear and is relief-carved with arabesque-like leafy vines around a grotesque mask serving as the rear sight; between the rear decoration and the breech runs a flat rib with a signature; the front sight bead is of iron; stamped at the rear with the coat of arms of Utrecht. The stock is relief-carved with, among other things, large leafy vines.
