Flintlock pistol

Part of a pair. The lock is almost unadorned; signed. The barrel is relief-carved with branching foliage and a dragon, fitted with an iron grain and stamped at the bottom with the coat of arms of Maastricht. The stock is carved with, among other things, leafy vines. The iron furniture includes, among other things, a screw plate in the form of a sea serpent, but without a head, and fitted with openwork leafy vines, the tail of the barrel with decoration in the form of an onion with the inscription N 39, and the buttplate carved with a mask surrounded by acanthus leaves.
