Flintlock pistol

Part of a pair. The lock is decorated with chiselled relief, partly against a granular background and partly covered with yellow copper; the cock is decorated with a yellow copper head with a tiara-like headdress; the lockplate is engraved with UTRECHT and a mark in the form of a crowned heart, and marked on the inside with an H. The barrel is stamped at the rear with the coat of arms of Utrecht and at the bottom again with the coat of arms of Utrecht and a crowned heart; decorated in the same way as the lock, with the central motif a pillar with two birds; signed with PENTERMAN; fitted with a silver front sight bead in the form of a grotesque mask. The stock is carved with, among other things, foliage.
