Flint pistol

Probably an officer's pistol, made by the National Factory in Culemborg; part of a pair. The lock is unadorned except for the inscription Fabrique Te CulemborG. The barrel is fitted with a wide band with rings and a front sight, and stamped with the coat of arms of Culemborg. The stock has a curved grip and is carved in relief with, among other things, flowers behind the barrel; the fore-end is fitted with a cowhorn cap. The formerly gilded brass furniture includes, among other things, a screw plate engraved with borders and foliage following the shape of the screw plate, a trigger guard with an asymmetrical leafy vine, and a stock cap with the same decoration; the ramrod is fitted with a cowhorn cap.
